Day-by-Day Itinerary
Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
0700 hrs: Meet your driver-guide at the airport or your hotel, followed by a safari briefing.
Depart for Samburu National Reserve with lunch upon arrival and check-in at your lodge.
1600 hrs: Enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset, spotting wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, and unique species like the Gerenuk.
Located in the arid northern region of Kenya, Samburu National Reserve offers an extraordinary wildlife experience, marked by its rugged landscapes, rich biodiversity, and fascinating cultural heritage. Nestled along the Ewaso Ng'iro River, the reserve is not only a haven for a wide variety of animals but also home to the Samburu people, a vibrant ethnic group with a rich history and deep connection to the land. It is home to rare species such as the Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx, and Somali Ostrich. The area is also known for sightings of the Big Cats, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as other animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, impalas, and waterbucks.
Birdwatching enthusiasts will enjoy the abundance of species found here, including kingfishers, bee-eaters, tawny eagles, guineafowl, lilac-breasted rollers, and various hornbill species.

Arrive for lunch at the camp, which offers stunning views of Mount Kenya.
Explore the conservancy, home to the Big Five and rare species. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned and abused chimpanzees.
Sweetwaters Game Reserve: Visit the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to the Big Five and renowned for its Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is the only one of its kind in Kenya. Encounter endangered species, including black rhinos and Grevy’s zebras, while enjoying luxurious accommodations overlooking a waterhole.
